I got tickets to watch three Vancouver Asian Film Festival movies and–are we surprised?–I watched only two of them. We are avoiding the great outdoor party and (free) concert, clubs, “dinner and a dance,” and crazy drivers/revelers this year by ringing in the new year watching movies.
(Two years ago, we greeted the new year staying in at the new house playing online Scrabble and watching the Times Square celebration hit 11 o’clock PM.)

I got this movie, Saving Face, based on not much more than seeing it at the movie rentals store and being a sucker for AA (Asian-American) movies.
Except it wasn’t a typical AA movie, whatever “typical” means.
